Thank you India
Thank you providence....
No, I haven't reached an Alanis Morrisette-like state of Nirvana yet, but I am having an amazing time.
I've hired a driver and am in the middle of a week-long spree through Rajastan in northern India. I'm currently in Jaipur, an old city with a long and rich history (which I won't get into here). Rather than that, I tought I'd offer a series of observations from my trip.
1. On the drive from Delhi, I saw dogs, cats, cows, donkeys, elephants, camels and monkeys along the side of the road.
2. I spent Christmas eve visiting a mosque and a goat market?
3. I stepped in wet cement (but didn't get stuck, contrary to years of cartoon training).
4. I witnessed an opulent Indian wedding march/entrance, complete with the groom on his white steed.
5. While walking down the street, I got stuck between a dead dog and motorbike. Luckily, my cat-like balance helped me to avoid both.
6. I had my palm read and was told that I'd have 2 loves in my life, that I'd settle down when I turned 35 and that my stomach chakra could be better than it is.
7. I've also seen some amazing sites in Jaipur and I imagine it will only get better.
8. I managed to get my driver to sing the Punjabi MC song "Beware of the Boys" after playing it for him on my iPod.
It's been an amazing trip so far, and I thank Brahma, Vishnu, Buddha, God and Allah for the good fortune to do things like this.
Love to all and best wishes for a happy and fulfilling new year!
My best,
jc
